Dharmanagar, Tripura, 2nd of April, 2026 : Political excitement is steadily intensifying ahead of the upcoming Dharmanagar by-election. As the polling day approaches, various political parties have intensified their campaign efforts to strengthen their organizations and win over voters. In this context, a large election rally in support of Left Front candidate Amitabha Dutta was held at DNV Ground in Dharmanagar on Thursday at 3 PM, drawing significant public attention.

Prominent leaders present at the rally included CPI(M) State Secretary Jitendra Chaudhury, CPI(M) Central Committee member Krishna Rakshit, CPI(M) North District Secretary Abhijit Dey, MLA of Jubarajnagar constituency Shailendra Chandra Nath, MLA of Kurti-Kadamtala constituency Islam Uddin, along with several other senior leaders and party members, including the Left Front’s nominated candidate Amitabha Dutta.
During the rally, speakers strongly criticized the policies and functioning of the current state government. They alleged that unemployment has increased, and that the problems faced by farmers and working-class people are not being adequately addressed. They also claimed that the democratic environment in the state has deteriorated. In his speech, candidate Amitabha Dutta emphasized the overall development of the Dharmanagar area. He stated that if elected, he would prioritize infrastructure development, employment opportunities for youth, and solutions to everyday problems faced by the public. He also reaffirmed his commitment to protecting democratic rights and appealed to voters for their support.
