Dharmanagar, Tripura, 2nd of April, 2026 : In view of the upcoming by-election to the 56-Dharmanagar constituency, an important training programme for Micro Observers was held on Thursday, April 2, 2026. The session took place at the Ardhendu Bhattacharya Smriti Bhavan in Dharmanagar and was attended by the General Observer, the District Election Officer, and the Returning Officer of the 56-Dharmanagar Assembly Constituency.

During the programme, Micro Observers were given detailed guidance on their roles and responsibilities related to the election process. Special emphasis was placed on maintaining transparency and neutrality during polling. The training also covered the proper use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) systems, adherence to the Model Code of Conduct at polling stations, and procedures for observing and reporting any irregularities.Officials present at the session highlighted that Micro Observers play a crucial role in ensuring free, fair, and peaceful elections. Therefore, the primary objective of the initiative is to strengthen and enhance the reliability of the electoral process through proper training. Participants of the training programme welcomed the initiative, stating that it would help them perform their duties more efficiently and effectively.
