Agartala, Tripura, 12th of August, 2025 : The District Project Management Unit (DPMU) Gomati, under the World Bank-funded Tripura Rural Economic Growth and Service Delivery Project (TRESP), has intensified its multi-sectoral interventions to ensure real-time implementation across various R.D. Blocks with active support from Technical Support Agencies (TSAs) and line departments of Agriculture, Fisheries, and ARDD.

On 12 August 2025, a series of activities were carried out, including the release of fingerlings for polyculture at Putputte Producer Group in Silachari R.D. Block to boost fish production and livelihoods, along with a one-day refresher training on the PG concept in the presence of the BDO, Agriculture Specialist, and TSA officials. The first stage of a Farmers’ Field School (FFS) for Laxmi Agri-Horti PG in Jalema VC, Killa R.D. Block, focused on bottle gourd cultivation (varieties “Gada” and “NH-202”), covering seed germination, sapling preparation, and nursery management. In OMPI R.D. Block, officials visited Yaphang ARDD PG to discuss fund utilization and repayment processes, while in multiple blocks, community cadre review meetings addressed CSP bills, PG formation targets, and fishery survey progress.

At Karbook R.D. Block, the Doll Baksa Agri PG (Paticharri) hosted its first FFS on pumpkin cultivation using tissue paper and soilless media for seedling production, along with plant spacing demonstrations led by TSA’s Sri Suman Das and BMLT’s Sri Ranjit Ram Tripura, supported by the Block Program Manager and Cluster Coordinator (Agri-Horti). These activities reflect DPMU Gomati’s continued commitment to strengthening community-based livelihood initiatives, capacity building, and sustainable income generation under TRESP.
