DRA Concert Cum Traditional Food Fest Organized.

Amarpur, Tripura, 23rd of February 2025 :  With the initiative of DRA (Darlong Rimawi Association) DRA concert cum traditional food festival of the Darlong community has been organized here in Khawhreng village under Gour Nagar block in Kailashahar, Unakoti district with great enthusiasm and zeal. On this occasion a large number of Darlong community people from all over the state have assembled here in the programme venue. The concerned organizer has constituted the programme with miscellaneous event segments. From the evening Darlong tradional food festival exhibition has been initiated in the programme ground where different kinds of Darlong traditional food items display which are totally organic foods with natural taste and maintain better health was the main focus of the gathering. These traditional food items are extremely healthy and natural; prepared without oil and spices. The long row of Darlong traditional foods stalls have accelerated the significance of the fest.

As per the report, Darlong community is cent percent Christian and advanced in education than other indigenous communities in the state. According to their customary law they have good social administrative procedure to control the whole society and existing enough social awareness over negative tendencies of the society. To generate entertainment in the programme Darlong community cultural teams have presented charming traditional cultural event segments which have made the music programme most enjoyable. Spectators were jumping with joy and motivated the singers with positive response. On the other hand, aiming to abolish social superstitions the DRA has conducted awareness programme over the worst outcome of drugs addiction and child marriage. The Darlong programme dignitaries have focussed over these social curses and instructed all communities to remove all kinds of social superstitions and the promptness of drugs which create obstacle to attain the genuine goal of the social prosperity.

Additionally the DRA has organized an award ceremony programme too where prestigious awards have been distributed amidst the Darlong special achievers over various appreciable credits. The whole audience of the event have encouraged those community achievers for their excellent contribution for the Darlong society. Amidst the distinguished dignitaries of the community there were Tinkhuma Darlong, president, Darlong Hnam Inzom, Mrs. Lalnunnemi Darlong, director SCERT, govt. of Tripura, Mrs. Lalnghaki Darlong, president, Darlong Nuhoi Inzom, Er. Huanhneliana Darlong, president, YDA, Mr. Malswama Darlong, asst. prof.
