DYFI Submits Deputation To Chief Minister Through North Tripura District Magistrate On Three-Point Charter Of Demands.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 15th of September, 2026 : The North Tripura District Committee of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) submitted a deputation to the Chief Minister through the District Magistrate of North Tripura on Monday (14th September, 2026), pressing for a three-point charter of demands. The programme was organised in accordance with a decision of the organisation’s state committee. Similar deputations are also being submitted to district magistrates across the state.

In a memorandum signed by DYFI representatives, the organisation called for immediate government intervention on several important issues concerning unemployed youth.The first demand strongly opposed the government’s decision not to make a Permanent Resident of Tripura Certificate (PRTC) mandatory for government jobs. According to the organisation, given the limited scope for industrialisation in Tripura, government employment remains one of the major sources of jobs for educated youth in the state. If PRTC is not made mandatory, unemployed youths from Tripura will face greater pressure while competing with candidates from outside the state. DYFI therefore demanded that the decision be withdrawn.

The second demand was for the immediate initiation of recruitment to all vacant government posts in the state. The organisation expressed concern over the rejection of a proposal to fill vacant posts during the recently concluded Assembly session.

The third demand called for an impartial investigation into the unnatural death of former DGP Anurag Dhankar. DYFI demanded a comprehensive judicial inquiry under the supervision of the Chief Justice or a sitting judge of the High Court.

Those present at the deputation programme included Dharmanagar Sub-Divisional Committee Secretary Arjun Nath, President Jasim Uddin, Panisagar Sub-Divisional Committee Secretary Kamalesh Acharya, and other leaders of the organisation.
