East Bengal Legends Defeated Mohun Bagan Legends In ML Saha Memorial Legends Cup, Agartala, Tripura. 

Agartala, Tripura, 17th of August 2025 : With the initiative of Tripura Football Association organized Makhan Lal Saha Memorial Legends Cup at Umakanta Mini Stadium in Agartala, Tripura on Sunday (17th August, 2025). In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the competition by kicking off the ball. Before the match started, the Chief Minister greeted the players from both teams.

Interacted with the media Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that The State Government wants to create opportunities for the future generation to develop talent in various sports, including football. For this reason, a lot of development has been done in various sports infrastructure through Government initiatives. There is no dearth of talented players in football and other sports in the State.

The Chief Minister also added that the main purpose of organizing such games by bringing players from big teams like East Bengal and Mohun Bagan is to encourage the current generation of talented players in the state. The state government wants the children of Tripura to develop their talents in various sports including football and take the name of the state to the national and international level. Modern sports infrastructure is being developed in every district including Agartala.

Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Hon’ble Youth Affairs & Sports Minister Tinku Roy, Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and MLA Dipak Majumder and many other distinguished dignitaries were present in the ML Saha Memorial Legends Cup football match. The East Bengal won in the ML Saha Memorial Legends Cup football match. After the match, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy, Tripura Football Association President Pranab Sarkar and other guests presented the prizes to the winning team.
