Education system should not become solely examination-centric : Governor Of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu.

Agartala, Tripura, 4th of September, 2026 : With the initiative of  Techno College of Engineering Agartala organized AAGAM 6.0 at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan, Agartala, Tripura on Thursday (3rd September, 2026). In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Governor of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu inaugurated the event.

The National Education Policy 2020 is not merely a policy document, it creates an opportunity to rethink the way we educate our children. Hon’ble Governor of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu  said this today while speaking at the “AAGAM 6.0” and “Shikshak Samman-2026” event organized by Techno College of Engineering, Agartala, at Hall No. 1 of Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala. Speaking at the event, the Governor said the policy’s goal is to build, on the foundation of Indian values and traditions, an education system that will directly contribute to transforming India into a just, inclusive, and vibrant knowledge-based society. The National Education Policy 2020 is laying the groundwork for an inclusive, skill-based, and future-ready education system. One of the key aims of the policy is to bridge the gap between conventional traditional teaching and the practical skills required by employers.

He said Tripura is playing a leading role in this transformation. Under the Nav Bharat Literacy Programme, Tripura has been officially declared a fully literate state. The state’s literacy rate has reached 95.6 percent, in line with the targets set out in the National Education Policy 2020. He also noted that pre-primary sections have been introduced in government schools, enabling children from all sections of society to access early education. Additionally, initiatives have been taken to set up robotics and virtual reality laboratories in all Vidyajyoti schools, further strengthening technology-driven and experience-based learning.

The Governor said that building a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) requires a scientific temperament, the ability to question, experiment, seek evidence, and think rationally. At the same time, it requires innovative thinking, the courage to imagine new possibilities and the perseverance to turn those ideas into reality. He urged students not to fear failure, noting that every failure is an important step on the path to discovery and success. Addressing teachers and education administrators, the Governor called for the continued implementation of the National Education Policy 2020.

At the event, Deputy Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, Ramprasad Paul, said that since its inception, Techno College of Engineering, Agartala has played an important role in providing quality education and in the overall development of students. The Governor also presented certificates and cheques to students who secured positions in the state and district-level Numerical Competitions. Additionally, accomplished teachers and professors from various ITIs and other educational institutions across Tripura were awarded “Shikshak Samman” certificates in recognition of their dedicated service and contribution to education.

The welcome address at the event was delivered by Professor Dibakar Deb, Principal of Techno College of Engineering, Agartala, and Vice-Chancellor of Techno India University. Professor Manasi Roy Chowdhury, Co-Chairperson of the Techno India Group, also spoke at the event.
