Ampi, Tripura, 28th of October 2025 : Debdaru OP OC namely Bakuljoy Reang was forced by an excited mob in Lock down market in Julai Bari block, Shantir Bazar in South Tripura. As per the local report, 5 vehicles which were mostly overloaded were going from Silachari to Julaibari for Buddhist religious festival. The Debdaru OP OC Bakuljoy Reang and his police team noticed that these overloaded vehicles are disobeying law; creating risk for people and generating permit violation under section M.V act 192 & 194. Immediately the concerned OP police team has come into action and stopped 4 vehicles, one managed to run away from the spot.

As per the law, police accused these 4 vehicles, bound them to pay 1800 rupees as overload fine. Later on, vehicle authorities & all passengers who were going to that festival have unitedly forced Debdaru OP OC Bakuljoy Reang to give back the overload fine money. The gathering was shouting and debating loudly to restore the money and assaulted the OC illegally. They were creating pressure to OC, even women were uttering dirty words in the debate. Afterwards, local public have gathered the spot and opposed those excited mob who were trying to attack the police authority of the OP. Some local villagers have expressed that when law permits police to maintain law and order then police authority is taking initiative to stop MV act.breaker tendency, which is right and reasonable. Police is maintaining road safety for the betterment of the passengers. Overload vehicles movement is always prohibited by the law of the administration.
