Agartala, 13th of February 2024 : With the initiative of Social Welfare & Social Education department Government of Tripura Felicitation ceremony of Girl Child and Awareness Programme of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ organized as a part of Muskan programme at Muktadhara Auditorium, Agartala on Tuesday (13th February, 2024). The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the Hon’ble Youth Affairs & Sports, Social Welfare & Social Education, Minister Tinku Roy and other dignitaries.
In the Felicitation ceremony of Girl Child and Awareness Programme, Hon’ble Social Welfare & Social Education, Minister Tinku Roy said, that girls are facing many challenges in the world today and are moving towards success by facing them. In keeping with this, the girls of our state are not lagging behind in any area today. The Social Welfare & Social Education minister said that the benefits of Muskan project increase health awareness of girls, their educational success and personal development to ensure a bright future for them. The Central and State Governments provide various facilities for the development of girls through this programme. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has devised this scheme for the development of girls in the society to make them financially independent. Because he realized that a society cannot develop without the development of girls.
In the event, 5 students from the poor families of the district who passed the Madhyamik Examination with 80 percent marks were given meritorious awards and prizes. Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme awarded 1 Anganwadi worker for his outstanding work and 3 Anganwadi children for regular attendance at Anganwadi Centre. Apart from this, 5 families have been given financial assistance of four thousands. A mother of 4 daughters was also felicitated and awarded on the occasion for her achievement of educating her daughter in higher education despite being from a poor family. The Social Welfare and Social Education minister and present guests distributed the prizes them.
District In charge of Social Welfare Dept, West Tripura district, Biplab Ghosh delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder was present as a special guest on the occasion. Sabhadhipati in-charge of Paschim Tripura Zilla Parishad Haridulal Acharjee, Hon’ble Deputy Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Manika Das Datta, Smitha Mol Director of Social Welfare & Social Education department and many other dignitaries were present in the programme.
