Agartala, Tripura, 2nd of March 2026 : 124 CRPF has organized a felicitation ceremony for its Track and Field team today at Unit headquarters Salbagan with pomp and festivity. Representing the North East Zone, Track and Field team of 124 CRPF was crowned overall Winner during Inter-Zonal Track and Field Competition 2026 held at Group Center New Delhi during 23-24 February 2026. It is pertinent to mention here that CRPF consisted of more than 240 Units/Battalions which are deployed all over the country. The competition comprised of eight different events viz 100 meter race, 4X100 meter race, 10 kilometer Cross Country run, 5 kilometers run, High jump, Long jump, Shot Put and 1500 meter race. Out of the six participating teams selected from different Zones, Track and Field team of 124 achieved the podium finish by winning 11 Gold Medals, 03 Silver Medals and 04 Bronze medals in the individual and team categories.
The successful 16 member team was decorated with Commendation certificates and honored by the Unit in a befitting manner. In his address during the ceremony, Shri Ravish Kumar, Commandant highlighted that the opportunity to exhibit one’s talent on a larger stage does not come to everyone. When offered the chance, the boys have displayed their mettle and won almost every prize there is for the taking. He further reaffirmed that this achievement is a landmark moment in the annals of the Unit history and should be cherished by every member of the battalion.
