Agartala, Tripura, 14th of March 2025 : Government Of India And Government Of Japan Have Signed A Memorandum Of Cooperation To Promote SSW (Specified Skill Worker) Program. To Enhance Global Employment Development, Opportunities For Nursing Students, The Directorate Of Skill Government Of Tripura, In Collaboration With NSDC International, Has Successfully Facilitated The Recruitment Of A Nursing Candidate In Japan For A Prestigious Career In Nursing Care.

SSW is a new residency status which allows Indian candidates to work in Japan for long term. The enrolled candidates will undergo full time residential Japanese language training and other nursing inputs for 9 months in Greater Noida empaneled by NSDC International. Upon passing the exams and interview they will be passed placed in Japan. The candidates will also be supported in boarding & lodging during the training. ANM, GNM, and B.Sc Nursing candidates are eligible to apply for this course. Directorate of Skill Development has mobilized 21 nos. candidates to Delhi for Japanese language training. 03 nos. candidates have already joined Japan as Nursing Caregiver under the Specified Skilled Worker Scheme and 06 more candidates will be going soon within the month of July.

Sri Diptanu Sarkar, a resident of Dhaleswar, Agartala, Miss. Trishna Sarkar, a resident of Udaipur, Gomati and Miss Taniya Das a resident of Konaban has secured employment in Japan with a lucrative monthly safary exceeding INR 1.00 lakh. This achievement has set a new benchmark in the state’s employment sector.
Apart from the above, Miss Priyanka Mahajan, Sajjadur Rahaman, Jannat Begum, Parsomi Betu and Suparna Sarkar from the state are set to depart for Japan in July, 2025 and Miss Priyanka Deb will be leaving in April, 2025 and their monthly salary would also be more than INR 1.00 lakh.

To honor their achievements, a felicitation ceremony has been organized on 14th March at 2:30 PM, in conference Hall of Hon’ble Chief Minister official Residence, where the Hon’ble Chief Minister recognize and encourage the candidates. Under MMDUP Scheme Directorate of Skill Development will send 60 candidates to Japan in ensuing financial year.
This initiative marks a significant milestone in the state’s commitment to skill development and international employment opportunities for youth. With financial support from the North Eastern Council, the selected candidate completed a nine-month Japanese language-training program in New Delhi. The Directorate of Skill Development, Government of Tripura will borne all experises related to language training, travel and other necessary costs. This financial assistance ensures that aspiring nurses from Tripura can also access global employment opportunities without any financial burden.
