Final Round Of Inter College Quiz Competition – “Jagriti 2025‘.

Agartala, Tripura, 10th February, 2025 :  With the initiative of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and Transport Departments Government of Tripura Inter College Quiz Competition – “Jagriti 2025Final Round has been organized at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan, Agartala on Monday (10th February, 2025). In the presence of dignitaries Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has inaugurated the Jagriti 2025 Final Round by lighting the lamp.

The Jagriti-2025 program has been launched with the aim of road safety, consumer protection and drug-free society. This program is organized by the Food, Public Procurement and Consumer Affairs and Transport Departments in collaboration with the Higher Education Department of the State Government. A mega quiz competition was held on the occasion. In addition, attractive prizes were given to the audience through an open quiz.

“Road safety, consumer protection and public awareness are necessary to avoid the ill effects of addiction. Such awareness programs through competitions among students are truly an innovative initiative. It will create interest among students as well as awareness on all these issues.”, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said at the inauguration ceremony of Jagriti 2025 Final Round event. The Chief Minister said students are our future. Therefore, they should be made aware of road safety, consumer protection, and the ill effects of addiction right from their student days. As a result, society will also be safe.

“The state government is trying to make Tripura drug-free. The police administration and other agencies are working towards this goal. It is not possible to succeed if students are not involved in this campaign. The issue of consumer protection is also very important in the present times. There should be more publicity about all the traffic rules that are in place to prevent road accidents. Especially students should be made aware about road safety.”, Chief Minister Dr. M. Saha also added.

Addressing the gathering  Hon’ble Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that the Jagriti program was started with the aim of declaring war on drug addiction, making college students aware of road safety and consumer rights. As part of this program, quiz competitions were organized for college level students in Udaipur and Kumarghat. The final round of the quiz competition is being held in Agartala today. There are also plans to take the Jagriti program to the school level in the coming days.

Nine teams participated in the final round quiz competition on the occasion of the Jagriti program. Netaji Subhash Mahavidyalaya (NSM), Udaipur, Gomati District Polytechnic, Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar College, Belonia College of Teachers Education, Kumarghat, Aryabhatt International University, Dharmanagar, Government Degree College, Longthrai Valley, Veterinary College, Bir Bikram Memorial College, Agartala and NIT Agartala.

Shreya Modak and Shubajit Chowdhury from Netaji Subhash Mahavidyalaya (NSM), Udaipur secured the first position in the final round quiz competition. Nishant Biswas and Jyodip Majumdar of Kumarghat Teacher Training College secured the second position, and Souvik Bhowmik and Vishal Debnath from Veterinary College won third place. Two winners were given Laptopss as the first prize, two winners were given Tabas the second prize, and two winners were given VIP trolley bags as the third prize.

The Quiz masters include leading Educationist Abhijit Bhattacharjee (Chairman and Principal of School Of Science), Nandu Panicker, Subhrajit Bhattacharjee. The Mega Quiz Competition has been held with great enthusiasm and excitement.

Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Hon’ble Justice Arindam Lodh, Additional Secretary of the Transport Department, Subrata Chowdhury, Director of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Sumit Lodh, Teachers, Students and many other dignitaries were present in the programme.
