Dharmanagar, Tripura, 18th of May 2026 : An emotional and festive atmosphere prevailed at the Dharmanagar Municipal Council in North Tripura district on Monday, marking the first official visit of newly elected MLA Jahar Chakraborty. After taking oath, he formally visited the municipal council for the first time, and the entire council premises witnessed a celebratory mood surrounding his arrival.The MLA was warmly welcomed by Dharmanagar Municipal Council Chairperson Mitali Das Sen, Chief Executive Officer Debjani Chowdhury, along with all councillors and administrative officials. He was greeted with traditional ceremonial scarves and bouquets of flowers. Enthusiasm and emotion were clearly visible among everyone present at the event.

While addressing the gathering, MLA Jahar Chakraborty called upon everyone to work together for the overall development of Dharmanagar. He stated that fulfilling the expectations of the people is his primary objective and affirmed his commitment to improving civic services in coordination with the municipal council.He later held detailed discussions for a long time regarding various departments of the municipal council, civic issues, development projects, drinking water supply, roads, drainage systems, and the city’s overall infrastructure. He also gathered detailed information from councillors and administrative officials about existing problems and future development plans.
The municipal council stated that the newly elected MLA’s visit would open a new chapter in Dharmanagar’s development and expressed hope that coordination between the administration and public representatives would become even stronger.
