Four Bills passed In Assembly.

Agartala, Tripura, 1st of September, 2026 : Four bills were passed in the afternoon session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly on Monday (31st August, 2026). “The Board of Open Schooling and Examination, Tripura Bill, 2026 (The Tripura Bill no. 14 of 2026)” was presented by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha. Deliberating on the bill the Chief Minister said, this bill has been formulated to facilitate education of those who have dropped out of conventional education system. The National Education Policy has also provisions for such schooling. This bill will open up new opportunities for such people to restart learning. Necessary safeguard is also there to ensure that students do not face any problem. This bill will in fact, help in building Viksit Bharat and Viksit Tripura. Opposing the bill, the leader of the opposition Jitendra Chowdhury, MLA Gopal Chandra Roy, MLA Shailendra Chandra Nath discussed on it. However, the bill was passed in voice voting.

Another bill “Shri Shri University, Tripura Bill 2026 (The Tripura Bill no. 15 of 2026)” was also passed today. The bill was presented by Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy. Leader of the opposition Jitendra Chowdhury, MLA Gopal Chandra Roy, MLA Ashok Chandra Mitra, MLA Dipankar Sen participated in the discussion on this bill. Post discussion this bill was passed. “The Tripura Ease of Doing Business Bill, 2026 (The Tripura Bill no. 10 of 2026)” was presented by Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma. This bill was passed unanimously. Similarly. “The Tripura State Goods and Services Tax (Tenth Amendment) Bill 2026 (Tripura Bill no. 12 of 2026) was presented by Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy. This bill was also passed unanimously. MLA Gopal Chandra Roy deliberated on this bill.
