Fresh Mart Inaugurated In Ampi.                              

Amarpur, 15th of September 2026 :    With the initiative of Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) a Fresh Mart centre inauguration programme has been organized here in Hari Pur village under Ampi Nagar RD block in Gomati Tripura today. On this occasion SHG women members,  block officials and other dignitaries from the concerned authority have assembled here in the programme venue and took participation in the event. To generate income opportunity for the SHG women members Ompi block BDO Ruatfela Darlong and DMC Sagar Das jointly have inaugurated the Fresh Mart centre with enthusiastic mood. The women SHG namely Changang Mahila Cluster Bahumukhi Samabaya Samiti Ltd. has to handle this Fresh Mart centre where local people will avail fresh, quality, affordable goods & vegetables in this Fresh Mart.

As per the report, a Fresh Mart generally run by a Self-Help Group (SHG) is a community-based outlet where members sell fresh agricultural and locally produced items, such as vegetables, fruits, dairy products, spices, pickles, and other food products. Its main significance is income generation, provides SHG members with a regular source of income and livelihood. Market access helps farmers and SHG members sell their products directly to consumers. It creates women empowerment  as well as strengthens women’s economic independence, confidence, and decision-making ability. It enhances promotion of local products. Encourages people to buy locally produced and fresh goods.

Reduction of middlemen, direct selling can help producers receive a better share of the final price. It generates community development; creates employment and strengthens the local rural economy. Better access to fresh food for locality; consumers can obtain locally produced food conveniently and often at reasonable prices.
