Mumbai, Maharashtra, 14th of October, 2026 : After establishing his identity in the world of acting, Tanuj Virwani is now exploring new filmmaking techniques and scripting a distinct creative journey of his own. His thriller Naash stands out because he has taken on the responsibilities of not just an actor, but also a writer, producer and director. What makes the project even more intriguing is that it was shot using an iPhone, reflecting his experimental approach and passion for exploring new creative possibilities.
The shooting journey of Naash was no less exciting than the story itself. Several key sequences were filmed at Tanuj’s own farmhouse in Lonavala. Locations across Kerala and Hong Kong also played an important role in shaping the film’s atmosphere and adding a distinctive dimension to its narrative. Shooting alongside his friends made the project more than just a professional assignment, turning it into a deeply personal experience for Tanuj as well.
Sharing his experience, Tanuj says, “I wanted to experiment with this medium and see how far we could push ourselves creatively while shooting on an iPhone. But shooting a thriller on a phone at night was genuinely quite scary!”

For Tanuj, Naash is more than just a thriller; it is an opportunity to explore a new approach to storytelling. After working on long-format narratives for OTT platforms, he wanted to experiment with a format that keeps the scope of the story relatively contained while building audience curiosity with every episode. He believes this format offers an opportunity to explore creative ideas while keeping viewers engaged with the unfolding narrative.
The film features Madhurima Roy, Nibedita Pal, Sunny Rajani and other actors alongside Tanuj. Through Naash, Tanuj is seeking to demonstrate that carving a new path in cinema does not always require massive resources. A clear vision, courage and the passion to experiment can be equally powerful in bringing a compelling story to life.
