GDC, Khumulwng Organized National Seminar.

Amarpur, Tripura, 1st of December 2025 : A two-day long national seminar was jointly organized by the Department of Philosophy and Information Technology (IT) of Government Degree College, Khumulwng. The seminar was sponsored by Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR), New Delhi with an amount of Rs. 3 lakhs. Dr. Bhupendra Debbarma, the Principal In-Charge of GDC Khumulwng was the president of the seminar and Dr. Subrata Debbarma was the convener of this national seminar. Dr. Jekap Halam was the joint convener of the seminar. During the inaugural session the Chief Guest of the program Shri Kamal Kalai, the Hon’ble Executive Member (EM) of Health, Tourism and Tribal Welfare of Tripura (TTAADC) expressed the relevance on the theme of the seminar on the role of Al in the education sector. He reiterated the example of Singapore healthcare system based on Al automated hospitals with cutting edge technology service. Professor Nikme SC Momin, senior faculty of the Department of Education, North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Tura campus, Meghalaya was the keynote speaker of the seminar and presented her study during the inaugural session stressing on the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education sector particularly on the higher education. Prof. Momin presented that the ethical role on the use of Al needs to be taken into account in its use in the education sector.

The eminent resources persons who have attended the national seminar as Chairperson of various technical sessions were Dr. Challang R. Marak, Associate Professor, DIET college of Education, Tura, Meghalaya, Prof. Mohan Debbarma, Department of Philosophy, Tripura University, Prof. Jhunu Debbarma, Department of computer science and engineering, Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT), Narasingarh, Agartala. Dr. Swapan Debbarma, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Tripura. Dr. Abhijit Debbarma, Associate Professor, Department of IT, Dasharath Deb Memorial College, Tripura. Total 56 papers were presented by the research scholars and professors in the seminar. During the valedictory session, Prof Mohan Debbarma, Department of Philosophy, Tripura University was the Chief Guest accompanied by other dignitaries of this significant seminar.
