Government Set Up Women’s University In Tripura :  Chief Minister Of Tripura Dr. Manik Saha.

Agartala, Tripura, 5th of September 2025 : With the initiative of Education department Government of Tripura State Level 64th Teachers’ Day celebration has been conducted in Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, Agartala, Tripura on Friday (5th September, 2025). In the presence of many dignitaries Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.

On this auspicious occasion a large number of school teachers, students, dignitaries have assembled in the programme venue and observed the 64th birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan with due respect and dignity. Artists performed their traditional cultural programs likes dance, song etc. to beautify the ceremony. Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and present guests paid floral tributes to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birth Anniversary.

Addressing at the celebration ceremony of 64th Teachers’ Day  Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that The teaching community is the guide, advisor and main architect of the students’ life path. After parents, teachers have a place in everyone’s life. Only teachers can educate their students in ethics, etiquette and justice and make them real human beings. Who will be the main architect of running this state and country in the future. The second President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, was a great philosopher and a world-renowned teacher. He always took pride in identifying himself as a teacher. By studying his career, one can get a proper idea of ​​the great profession like teaching. He said that joins this teaching profession out of responsibility towards the future generation.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today announced that the State Government is working to set up a Women’s University to empower the women of the State.

He also announced that the present Government has been trying to reduce the gap in DA between Central and state government employees.

 “You may go into other professions for the sake of money, but teachers have chosen teaching profession out of passion and responsibility. Taking charge of the future generation, you have joined this noble profession. Teachers are like the roots of a tree, while students are the branches, fruits, and flowers who receive nourishment from them. Because of teachers, the country and the nation progress, as the foundation is very important. Teachers build this foundation through sacrifice,” said Dr. Saha.

 He also said that before entering the classroom, teachers always try to give something new to students.

 “In the teaching profession, mental, physical, and emotional energy is necessary. Teachers are inventors who instill knowledge and values in students. Teachers make students’ lives shine. They are the backbone of a nation, and people depend on them. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has introduced the National Education Policy, which has been implemented in Tripura as well. New initiatives have also been introduced. Our Government is working to bring in new reforms and recruit the best teachers through a transparent process,” said Dr. Saha.

CM Dr. Saha, who is also the Education Minister of the state, said that the present Government has opened three new government colleges. Under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Atmanirbhar Yojana, female students have been provided with scooters to encourage them in pursuing higher education.

 “We must work for the progress of girls. For that, we have waived fees for girl students in government colleges. Our state government is also working to set up a Women’s University to empower girls. Many universities have expressed their desire to open campuses in Tripura as peace now prevails here. We are trying to develop the state into an education hub. MBBS seats have also been increased along with the establishment of Dental and Nursing colleges,” he said.

 He informed that earlier people had to join protest rallies for DA and DR.

 “However, we have given 29%, and now the total DA and DR stand at 32%. In the coming days, we are trying to reduce the DA and DR gap with the Central government,” he added.

On this occasion, Dr. Saha handed over the Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar Samman to Dr. Atul Debbarma, Eminent Educationist, the Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukharjee Samman to Samir Chakraborty, Eminent Social Worker, and the Maharani Tulsibati Samman to Pranati Debbarma, Headmistress of D.C. Para Hemanta Smriti Vidyalaya.

Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were former Vice-Chancellor of Tripura University and Padma Shri awardee Dr. Arunoday Saha, Special Secretary, Education Department Raval Hemendra Kumar, Director of Higher Education Animesh Debbarma, Director of SCERT L. Darlong, Director of Kokborok and Other Languages Department Ananda Hari Jamatia, Director of Education N.C. Sharma, and many other dignitaries were present in the celebration ceremony.
