Agartala, Tripura, 27th of September, 2024 : Hon’ble Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu flags off Peace Walk Rally to mark World Tourism Day in front of Ujjayanta Palace, Agartala on Friday (27th September, 2024).
Addressing the participants the programme Hon’ble Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu said the main condition of tourism is peace. And if there is no peace, development and development of tourism is not possible. This year’s theme for World Tourism Day 2024 is ‘Tourism and Peace’. The Governor said that most parts of Tripura are tourism spots. Gomati is no less than the Godavari river in the south. There are many tourist attractions across the state, which are attracting a great deal of domestic and foreign tourists. He said that the Tripureshwari temple is being attractively decorated to encourage religious tourism in the state. Neermahal , which is filled with memories of the royal period, has also been renovated in front of the tourists. The Governor also added that as Tripura is a peaceful state, the state has huge potential for religious and spiritual tourism as well as rural tourism, river tourism, forest nature based tourism. Tourism is slowly progressing, along with the thriving economy around it. He said that hotel arrangements are being made to accommodate tourists. It increases employment and income. This is how tourism has become an industry. But the most important thing for the growth and development of this industry is the environment of peace.
On the occasion Hon’ble Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that various programs have been organized in the state on the occasion of Tourism Day. The Tourism minister said that the present government of the state is working tirelessly with the help of the central government to present Tripura to the whole world. The Tourism minister also added that apart from this, Brand Ambassador, Tripura Tourism & former Captain of Indian Cricket team Sourav Ganguly has sent 10 lakh rupees to help the flood victims. It has been sent as relief material to flood victims in every district. Various tour operators, voluntary organizations and people from various professions participated in the peace procession.
