Agartala, Tripura, 30th of August, 2026 : Hon’ble Governor of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu has suggested that universities should develop new curricula by integrating students’ preferred art forms with existing conventional courses and continue teaching them through advanced and technology-driven methods. Speaking as the chief guest at the Mother Language Day and 2026 Cultural Awards Ceremony held at Dr. Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Kala Mandir of Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University on Saturday (29th August, 2026), the Governor said that Telugu University should design technical and vocational courses that connect students with fine arts while also providing practical and worldly knowledge.
He emphasized the importance of making the mother tongue compulsory in every school, so that the language spoken at home also becomes the language of learning in educational institutions.

During the event, Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu presented the “Samskruti Puraskaram”, instituted in the name of Mandali Venkata Krishna Rao, to Thiruvalluri Vangipuram Srinivas, Advisor to the Pune Andhra Sangham. The award included a cash prize of 125,000, a special memento, and a ceremonial shawl. Earlier, University Registrar Acharya Kotla Hanumantha Rao delivered the welcome address, while Vice-Chancellor Veludanda Nityananda Rao presided over the function.
