Agartala, Tripura, 19th of March, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Wednesday (18th March, 2026). RPF & GRP, arrested four (4) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized contraband.
According to sources, GRP & RPF of Agartala, at about 09 PM to catch four persons namely 1)Pankaj Ray (28), S/O Lt Bhusan Ray of Jafrabad tak, PO- Jafrabad, PS- Raghupur, Dist- Vailshali, Bihar, 2) Sonu Kumar (27), S/O- Indradev Ray of Purishuttampur, PO- Jafrabad Dih, PS- Raghupur, Dist- Vailshali, Bihar, 3) Md. ShahaJan Miah (26), S/o- Md Billal Miah of Urmai, PO- Urmai PS- Sonamura, Sepahijala, Tripura and 4) Abdul Hannan (36), S/O- Md Iman Hossain of Urmai, PO- Urmai PS- Sonamura, Sepahijala, Tripura at Agartala Railway Station platform No- 01, in front of Parking area in between RPF Post Agartala and pay & use toilet along with total 217 nos bottles of suspected to be contraband narcotic drugs i.e CHOCO+ & ESkuf cough syrup in their trolley & pitthu bags.
The value of this Ganja is Rs- 07 Lakh approx in black market. Accordingly we have detained them and seized the contraband Ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP017, U/S-21(C)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against them.
Interacted with media Inspector Raju Bhowmik, Officer in Charge Agartala Railway Police Station gave details about this today. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
