Bengaluru, Karnataka, 27th of June, 2025 : Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Bengaluru campus, in collaboration with Manipal Hospitals (MHH), successfully hosted an inclusive free medical camp for police personnel and their families on June 27, 2025, at Hoysala Ground, Yelahanka New Town.

The initiative aimed to promote preventive healthcare and overall well-being among the city’s frontline protectors. The camp saw enthusiastic participation from around 200 beneficiaries, including serving police officers and their family members.
The medical camp was inaugurated by ACP Narasimha Murthy of Yelahanka New Town, along with Prof. Madhu Veeraraghavan, Pro Vice-Chancellor of MAHE Bengaluru. Mr. Raghavendra Prabhu P., Additional Registrar, MAHE Bengaluru, and Mr. Basawaraj S. Kuppasad, Deputy Director of General Services, MAHE Bengaluru, were also present.
The medical camp began at 8:00 AM, providing a wide range of essential health screening services including Body Mass Index (BMI) assessment, BP monitoring, General Random Blood Sugar (GRBS) testing, ECG, along with specialized consultations from qualified dieticians and physicians. These comprehensive health check-ups were conducted free of cost, reflecting the institutions’ commitment to community service & public health. Participants get about a special 10% discount available at Manipal Hospitals on outpatient consultations, laboratory investigations, and radiology services for those requiring further medical attention.
Speaking about the initiative, Prof. Madhu Veeraraghavan, Pro Vice-Chancellor, MAHE Bengaluru, said, “This medical camp represents MAHE’s unwavering commitment to serving those who serve our community. Police personnel dedicate their lives to ensuring public safety, and it is our privilege to contribute to their health and wellbeing through such meaningful initiatives.”

ACP Narasimha Murthy from Yelahanka New Town, expressed his admiration, saying, “We are deeply grateful to MAHE Bengaluru for organizing this excellent medical camp. Such health initiatives are invaluable for our police personnel and their families, as they often prioritize their duty over personal health needs.”
This unique drive was aimed at policemen who often ignore their health due their nature of work and duty responsibilities.
