Guwahati, Assam/Tripura, 10th of May, 2026 : Bharatiya Janata Party senior leader Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma re-elected as leader of Assam Bharatiya Janata Party and NDA Legislative Party.

The Bharatiya Janata Party legislature party meeting took place in the presence of Central observers Jagat Prakash Narayanlal Nadd (JP Nadda) and Nayab Singh Saini and many other remained present in the meeting in Guwahati on Sunday (10th May, 2026). In the meeting BJP senior leader Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma re-elected as leader of Assam Bharatiya Janata Party and NDA Legislative Party.
According to sources, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma will take oath as the Chief Minister of Assam for the second consecutive term on Tuesday (12th May, 2026). The oath-taking ceremony attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
