Agartala, Tripura, 10th of October, 2026 : Hindu devotees perform ‘Tarpan’ rituals for the souls of their departed ancestors during the holy day of ‘Mahalaya’ in Agartala, Tripura on Saturday (10th October, 2026).
From the early hours of the morning, devotees participated in the sacred observances with faith and devotion.

Tarpan is a traditional Hindu ritual in which water is offered to the souls of departed ancestors as a mark of respect and remembrance. The ritual holds special significance on Mahalaya, when devotees pray for the peace and salvation of their ancestors’ souls.
