Hon’ble Information & Cultural Affairs, Sports Minister Sushanta Chowdhury paid floral tributes to Sachin Dev Burman on his birth anniversary at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan, Agartala on today (1st October, 2021) organized by The Information and Cultural Affairs Department of Tripura.
Tripura celebrated the great son of the soil, Sachin Dev Burman’s birth anniversary on Friday. Sachin Dev Burman was a legendary music director and singer of the Indian sub-continent, famous with the name SD Burman. Born on October 1 in 1906, he was one of the most versatile and talented musicians of his time. He played an important role in promoting Bangla songs of Bhati region across India. As a music composer, he set lyrics of many folk songs of Bhati region to music. He composed songs like Ke jas re bhati gang baiya, Rangeela rangeela re and others that are still popular among music lovers.
