Hon’ble Union Minister Of Tourism G. Kishan Reddy Virtually Inaugurated And Laid The Foundation Stone Of Various Projects.

Hon’ble Union Minister of Tourism, Culture and Development of North Eastern Region of India (DONER) G. Kishan Reddy virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various projects at Civil Secretariat, Agartala on Tuesday (11th April, 2023).

Hon’ble Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy virtually inaugurated of the projects included improvement and upgradation of road sectioned from Udaipur to Melaghar at the project cost of Rs. 140 Cr & expansion of 20-bed Longtharai Valley Sub Divisional Hospital at Chailengta at the project cost of Rs. 8 Cr. The Union Minister of Tourism also laid the foundation stone of three projects virtually on the occasion. These projects are – Girls’ Hostel at Dhamma Dipa School at Manu Bankul, Building Cum Teachers Training Centre at Tripureshwari Mandir, Ramnagar, Agartala & construction of Skill Development Training Centre, Fulkumari, Udaipur.

“The States of North Eastern region including Tripura are progressing quickly in the direction of development. North Eastern states have ample natural resources as well as suitable environment for setting up industries. By exploiting these, there is a huge potential for development in the North East region”, Hon’ble Union Tourism, Culture and Development of North Eastern Region of India (DONER) Minister G. Kishan Reddy said at the inaugural ceremony today. The Union Tourism Minister also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the development of the country is not possible without the development of the North Eastern region, therefore, the Central Government is working together with the states of the North Eastern region for development.

On the occasion, The Union Tourism Minister also added that the Central Government is working with importance in the development of Railway, Road, Air and Water infrastructure in the North Eastern states. The Central Government is currently working on a project worth 78 thousand crore rupees for the development of rail connectivity. He said that the Central Government is working on a plan to improve air connectivity in the North Eastern states at present there are total 17 airports operating in North Eastern states. The Union Minister said that the Central Government has taken steps to strengthen commercial relations with Bangladesh through road and waterways.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Hon’ble Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury, officials and many other remained present in the programme.
