Huge Claimed Consignment Of Contraband Articles Worth Rs. 02 Cores Seized By The BSF.

BSF Tripura in its persistent efforts in curbing the menace of trans-border smuggling on Indo-Bangladesh International Border by regularly conducting  ‘Special Operations’ is effectively nullifying the nefarious designs of syndicates  involved in trans-border smuggling. In the series of such Operations, BSF  alongwith officials of DRI & PS- Sonamura gave a big jolt to the trans-border  smugglers by successfully seizing huge quantity of contraband items, Ganja 1179 kg, Eskuff cough syrup 553 alongwith Indian currency rupees -7, 24,130/-, 01 Bolero Pickup, 01 Alto car, 01 Motor cycle . Also recused 42 Cattle heads  having combined seizure value worth Rs. 2,00,20,081/- along with 1000/-  Bangladeshi Taka. One suspected smuggler & 02 infiltrators were also  apprehended in different Operations on 19/20 July 2022.  

During wee hours of 19th July 2022, on specific input regarding stocking  of huge contraband items in the house of Monir Hossain- (45 years) and Kabir Hossain- (40 years), a joint ops team consisting troops of BSF, DRI and PS  Sonamura conducted a special operation & successfully recovered huge  consignment of Dry Ganja and Eskuff syrup alongwith Indian currency with total Seizure Worth Rs. 1,90, 03,105/-, with apprehension.  

BSF is effectively manning the International border to make the state drug  free.
