Agartala, Tripura, 20th of September, 2024 : In continuation of a series of successful operations in the war against drugs, Assam Rifles in a joint operation with the Tripura Police seized a large amount of narcotics of 50,000 Yaba tablets, a combination of methamphetamine (a powerful and addictive stimulant) and caffeine. The seized narcotics, worth Rs 14.4 cr, was recovered from Teliamura yesterday, 19th September. The operation also resulted in the arrest of one individual and the confiscation of a Tata Truck.

In a statement, Assam Rifles stated that following a tip-off, Assam Rifles swiftly launched the operation, which culminated in the seizure of the contraband and the subsequent handover of the apprehended individual and the vehicle to the Police Department for further investigation and legal proceedings. The recovered Yaba tablets are valued at approximately Rs 14.4 crore in international market.This operation highlights the unwavering commitment of Assam Rifles in the fight against drug trafficking and illegal smuggling activities in the region.
