Khowai, Tripura, 16th of April 2026 : Defying poverty and hardship, Piyush Das from Sonatala, Khowai shines with 97% in CBSE Class 10, has set a remarkable example by turning struggle into success. The results of the 2026 CBSE Class 10 examinations were announced last night, and Piyush emerged as a top performer.
A student of Khowai Government Higher Secondary School, he secured an outstanding 97% marks, achieving the top position in Khowai subdivision.
Piyush’s journey to success was far from easy. His father, Biplab Das, works as a private tutor and earns ₹6,000–₹7,000 per month, which supports the entire family of three as well as Piyush’s education. His mother is mentally unwell, making his achievement even more inspiring.
According to sources, Piyush did not even have a proper study table at home. Yet, neither hardship nor limitations could weaken his determination. He studied for an average of 6 to 7 hours daily with unwavering dedication.
Through his hard work and the support of the online coaching platform PW (Physics Wallah), he achieved this remarkable result. He had only two private tutors, for English and Biology.
The contribution of his school teacher, Sanchita Das, also played a significant role in his success.
Piyush expressed his deep gratitude to his teacher for her guidance. Despite financial struggles, his father continues to support his education with great determination.
Piyush dreams of becoming an engineer in the future and now plans to pursue the Science stream in Class 11.
His remarkable achievement has brought joy to his family, including his uncles, and the people of Sonatala. Once again, this talented student from Khowai has proven that poverty cannot suppress true merit and determination.
