Agartala, Tripura, 24th of September, 2024 : With the initiative of ICFAI University Fresher’s Welcome programme NOVATOS 2024 organized at ICFAI University campus, Kamalghat, West Tripura on Tuesday (24th September, 2024). In the presence of many dignitaries Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the lamp.
Addressing the Fresher’s Welcome programme NOVATOS 2024, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said students of Tripura go to abroad for higher education. Presently, the higher education opportunities in the State have expanded. So students are getting opportunity to study in various subjects. The State Government has also given utmost importance to the development of education infrastructure and the promotion of quality education in the State.
The Chief Minister greeted and congratulated the students admitted for higher education in the university this year. He said that various colleges of the State were earlier under Calcutta University. After that Tripura University was formed. After this the Central University, MBB University was established here. Moreover, various private universities including Forensic University, Law University are also being established.
The Chief Minister also added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that development of India cannot happen without the development of North Eastern region. Therefore, the Central Government has given special importance to the development of North Eastern region. He said that there should be a sincere relationship between students and teachers. He expressed his heartiest well-wishing for future endeavour of the University.
Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Biplab Halder delivered the welcome speech to the respected Chief Minister and the new students who have taken admission into 59 different programmes from across the country and neighbouring country Bangladesh during 2024-25 sessions.
While addressing the welcome speech, Dr. Halder informed that the “Novatos” program is an event designed to warmly welcome our new batch of students every year by the University. Much like the astronomical phenomenon known as “Nova,” where a star shines intensely before transforming into a new identity, this day symbolizes the transition of school students into adulthood and graduates into a new phase of life. They shed their previous identities, embracing responsibility and freedom, as they step into their futures as true ICFAIANS. This significant transformation is marked by a grand celebration, where the existing students joyfully welcome the new, capturing the spirit of life and growth in the aptly named NOVATOS.
On this auspicious occasion of the Fresher’s Welcome programme NOVATOS a large number of students, teachers, dignitaries have assembled in the programme venue and celebrated the Fresher’s Welcome programme NOVATOS with great enthusiasm and excitement. Students presented attractive cultural programmes like music, dance on the colourful celebration ceremony. After the inaugural programme, the famous Zee Bangla Sa-re-ga-ma-pa 2014 contestant and Star Jalsha semi finalist Play-back singer Mayuri Dey performed with her melodious & playback songs and trembled the audiences.
