IEEMA Makes A Strong Debut In Mumbai With BuildELEC & CompELEC.

Mumbai, Maharashtra, 25th of February, 2026 : The Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA) today inaugurated the fourth edition of BuildELEC and the first edition of CompELEC in Mumbai. The three-day event, being held from February 25–27, is providing a focused sourcing and networking platform for the building electrical and components manufacturing ecosystem.

The Chief Guest, S.M. Ramanathan, Director – Engineering & R&D, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), said, “Power infrastructure is expanding at a rapid pace, and there is significant demand for equipment ranging from low voltage to extra high voltage. The component industry plays a crucial role in ensuring timely completion of equipment and projects.”

He appreciated the initiative of CompELEC as a dedicated sourcing platform for components and noted that structured one-on-one meetings between over 150 buyers and exhibitors would inject fresh momentum into the industry.

IEEMA President Vikram Gandotra stated, “Our 1,100+ members have been instrumental in powering the nation’s growth. Today, we are a USD 75 billion industry with USD 13.5 billion in exports, and we are steadily progressing toward our USD 130 billion target by 2030. To achieve this goal, we must strictly adhere to supply timelines while strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities and supply chains.”

Mentor Shashi Amin highlighted the emerging market opportunities, saying, “The market is expected to double in the next five years. This edition focuses on building a results-driven ecosystem where manufacturers of specialized systems can directly connect with developers, consultants, and contractors. Our objective goes beyond product display—we aim to enable tangible commercial growth.”

The exhibition in Mumbai is being seen as a significant step toward strengthening India’s electrical and components manufacturing sector, positioning it for global competitiveness and accelerating progress toward the USD 130 billion vision for 2030.
