Nagpur, 17th of January, 2025 : The Indian Institute of Management Nagpur signed a MoU with the National Power Training Institute (NPTI) today as part of an initiative for a strategic partnership to achieve bigger goals. ‘It is a significant step toward addressing the growing need for energy and power management expertise,said Dr.BhimarayaMetri, Director of IIM Nagpur

This MoU on several key initiatives includes Joint Executive Training Programmes tailored for senior professionals with specialized energy management and power policy training, ensuring they are well-equipped to navigate industry challenges. It will also focus on the Skilling Programmes to develop individuals’ energy and power sector skillsets. They will focus on enhancing technical and managerial competencies.

Furthermore, ‘Consultancy is another crucial factor. This partnership will engage in policy and regulatory research, offering consultancy services to stakeholders and contributing to developing more efficient energy policies.
Prof. Nikunj Kumar Jain, Associate Professor at IIM Nagpur, said, ‘This collaboration will help bridge the skill gap in India’s power sector, promote innovation, and foster sustainable growth in energy management and policy development.’
Dr.BhimarayaMetri, Director, IIM Nagpur, and Dr.Tripta Thakur, Director General, NPTI, signed the MoU in the presence of Prof. Nikunj Kumar Jain, Associate Professor, IIM Nagpur,Col. Makarand Alur, CAO, IIM Nagpur, Dr.Indu Maheshwari, Principal Director, Head of Institution, NPTI Nagpur, Dr. N K Shrivastava, Director, NPTI and Dr. Mudit Kulshreshtha, Faculty, NPTI.
The two institutions aim to equip energy professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the dynamic energy sector by collaborating on developing both short-term and long-term academic programmes.
