Inauguration Ceremony of Dr. Arunava Roy Synthetic Athletic Track At RCPE, Panisagar.

Panisagar, 2nd of July, 2024 : With the initiative of Department of Youth Affairs and Sports Government of Tripura has been inaugurated Dr. Arunava Roy Synthetic Athletic Track at RCPE, Panisagar under “Khelo India Scheme” at Regional College of Physical Education, Panisagar on Tuesday (2nd July, 2024). In the presence of many dignitaries Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has inaugurated by lighting the lamp.

“The Government is working for the development of infrastructure, for the development of sports field in the State. For this, synthetic tracks and fields are being developed in different districts of the State. The Government has taken this initiative for the better training of the players.” Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said at the inauguration ceremony of Dr. Arunava Roy Synthetic Athletic Track at RCPE today. The Chief Minister also added that not only in the field of sports, the State Government is working on the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the development of education, health, agriculture. The State Government is developing multipurpose sports infrastructure to make sports more popular. Synthetic football pitches have already been constructed at Umakanta Mini Stadium and Sachindranagar High School ground in Jirania. Construction of synthetic track is underway at Dashrath Dev Sports Complex. It also increases the skills of the boys and girls of the State. Among these, initiatives have been taken to construct basketball and volleyball courts at NSRCC in Agartala. Note that 5 crore 57 lakh rupees have been spent on the construction of this synthetic athletics track in Panisagar.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony Hon’ble Youth Affairs & Sports, Social Welfare & Social Education, Labour Minister Tinku Roy said, the sports infrastructure in the State is being arranged in a new way. This is the first time in the State that a synthetic tack has been named after an athlete. He also said that the ‘Chief Minister’s Sports Talent Search Scheme’ has been launched so that talented players do not lag behind due to financial reasons in the state. The sports minister expressed hope that the introduction of this newly developed synthetic tack would further develop the talent of the state’s players.

Secretary to the Youth Affairs & Sports department Dr. Pradip Kumar Chakraborty, delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were MLA Binay Bhushan Das, MLA Jadab Lal Nath, North Tripura Zilla Parishad President  Bhabatosh Das, North Tripura District, District Magistrate and Collector Debapriya Bardhan and  many other dignitaries were present in the event.
