Udaipur, Tripura,11th of January, 2025 : With The Initiative of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Government Of Tripura “Jagriti 2025” has been organized at the Rajarshi Town Hall, Udaipur on Saturday (11th January, 2025). In the presence of dignitaries Hon’ble Finance, Planning & Coordination, Information Technology Minister Pranajit Singha Roy has inaugurated the ‘Jagriti-2025’ by Lighting the lamp.
“The State Government has taken initiatives to protect the youth from the clutches of addiction. It is not possible for the administration alone to build a drug-free society. Everyone has to come forward for this work. The youth must be committed to building a drug-free society. The society will benefit if school, college and university students can be made aware of the ill effects of addiction. Moreover, the common people must also be aware of consumer protection.”, Hon’ble Finance, Planning & Coordination, Information Technology Minister Pranajit Singha Roy saaid
The Jagriti-2025 program has been launched with the aim of road safety, consumer protection and drug-free society. This program is organized by the Food, Public Procurement and Consumer Affairs and Transport Departments in collaboration with the Higher Education Department of the state government. The first phase of the program was organized today with colleges of South Tripura, Gomati and Sepahijala districts. A mega quiz competition was held on the occasion.
Addressing the participants the programme chief guest Hon’ble Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury said, the youth should come forward to create public awareness about consumer protection, road safety and the effects of addiction. Public awareness should be created against addiction. He said that human resources are the best resource. At the event, the Transport Minister expressed hope that it would be possible to build a drug-free society with the efforts of people from all sections of the society, including the youth.
Director of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Sumit Lodh delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. Sabhadhipati of Gomati Zilla Parishad Debal Debroy presided over the function. MLA Ranjit Das, MLA Abhishek Debroy, MLA Kishore Barman, MLA Jitendra Majumdar, Udaipur Municipal Council Chairperson Shital Chandra Majumdar and many others dignitaries were remained present in the event.
Students from various colleges of South Tripura, Gomati and Sepahijala districts participated in the mega quiz competition. The top 6 teams from the qualifying round participated in the main round of the quiz competition. Shreya Modak and Abhijit Chakraborty first in the competition. Karanjit Pal and Abhijit Debnath and Aditi Das and Prasenjit Debnath and third respectively. At the event, the guests presented the first prize LED TV, second prize smart phone and third prize smart watch to the winners. These three teams will participate in the quiz competition under the state-based Jagriti-2025 program.
