Dharmanagar, Tripura, 23rd of May 2026 : A 7-day theatre workshop organized by the socio-cultural organization “Eklavya” commenced in Dharmanagar with great enthusiasm.The inaugural ceremony was attended by MLA Jahar Chakraborty, who welcomed the initiative aimed at promoting theatre and cultural activities.

The workshop was formally inaugurated by MLA Jahar Chakraborty through the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Addressing on the occasion, he emphasized the important role of culture and theatre in shaping society. He stated that such workshops are highly significant in engaging the younger generation in creative and constructive activities. He also appreciated the efforts of the organizing body and encouraged them to continue arranging similar cultural programs in the future.
Among others present at the event were Bidyut Chakraborty, a member of the State Cultural Advisory Committee, Deepal Das, members of the District Cultural Advisory Committee, along with distinguished personalities, cultural enthusiasts, and theatre lovers from the area.The organizers informed that the 7-day workshop will provide training on various aspects of theatre, including acting, dialogue delivery, stage management, and the fundamentals of theatrical practice.Considerable enthusiasm was witnessed among the participants regarding the workshop
