Agartala, Tripura, 17th of December 2025 : In the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed yesterday between the State Government’s Department of Industries & Commerce and the Forest Department with Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust. These two MoUs were signed with the objective of expanding investments in multiple sectors in the State and developing forest- and agriculture-based value chains. On behalf of the Department of Industries & Commerce, Director Dr. Deepak Kumar, and on behalf of the Forest Department, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests R. K. Samal signed the two separate MoUs. On behalf of Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust, its CEO and Managing Director Acharya Balkrishna signed the MoUs. The MoU signing ceremony was held at the conference hall of the Tripura Institution for Transformation. The programme was attended by Minister for Industries & Commerce Santana Chakma, OSD to the Chief Minister Paramananda Sarkar Banerjee, senior officials of various concerned departments, and representatives of Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust.

Interacted with media to the media after the MoU signing, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a ‘New India’, the State Government is working towards building a ‘New Tripura’. He stated that the God-gifted State, rich in natural resources, has immense potential across various sectors. The State Government is continuously working to harness these potential areas to accelerate Tripura’s development and progress. Efforts are being made to attract investments from outside the State and to further enhance Tripura’s visibility at national and international levels. Guided by the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas, the government is committed to the overall development of the State. The Chief Minister expressed hope that these MoUs would further widen the path of development of the State in the coming days. He informed that Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust would invest approximately 400 crore in the State. With the support of Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust, Tripura could emerge as an ‘organic state’ in the future, he added.

At the MoU signing ceremony, CEO and Managing Director of Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust, Acharya Balkrishna, expressed interest in supporting the overall development of Tripura’s potential sectors. He conveyed his willingness to work in areas such as agriculture, religious tourism, information technology, and skill development training. He also stated that Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust would extend full cooperation to develop Tripura as a model state in the coming days.
