Ampi, Tripura, 23rd of January 2025 : Under the guidance and aid of Ampi agri. sector office mustard crop cultivation has been implemented in South Ampi ADC village and Chechua VC in the year 2024-25 where cultivators have obtained motivational consequence. Under Ampi Agri. sector of Ampi Agri. sub-division many local farmers have cultivated mustard crop (variety- RGN-298) with tremendous hardship and proper nurturing by the farmers applying proper technical guidance by the field officials of Ampi agri. subdivision. A successful return of income was generated from this mustard crop.

As per the report from the local farmers, they have achieved a smile of success from the scheme NMEO this season. Periodic supervision & visiting by Nibash Debbarma SA Ampi, and Aslangti Reang, ASO Ampi, and Gabriel Darlong, ASO Chechua & VLW Rajesh Debbarma cultivators have been encouraged to adopt proper package of practices for the crop and harvested good production of mustard seeds. Hectare wise mustard crop production which has appeared as a profitable project for the local farmers has motivated cultivators to take further initiative for the next season.
One of the local farmers said, “We have availed all kinds of project implementation aid & amenities from the agriculture sector office including inspiring tips of the departmental officials. After obtaining good profit from this project we have determined to accelerate this mustard crop production in future session too. When we have detected this crop production is advantageous and favourable for our land soil then with the assistance of the sector office we can enhance this profitable wintry harvest in coming days also.”

Local sources said, this year 15 additional farmers of South Ampi VC & Chechua VC have started mustard cultivation in 12 hectares cluster areas respectively and farmers have achieved bumper production (0.95 MT/hec). The total amount invested by the farmer is Rs. 20000 for per hectare and net profit earned around Rs. 60750 per hectare where per kg mustard seed rate is Rs. 85 in local market.
