International Women’s Day By Youth Affairs & Sports Department, Govt. Of Tripura.

With the initiative of Youth Affairs & Sports department, Government of Tripura has been organized International Women’s Day 2023 ceremony at Kshudiram Basu English Medium H.S School (KBEMS), Agartala on Saturday (18th March, 2023). In the presence of dignitaries Hon’ble Youth Affairs & Sports, Social Welfare & Social Education, Labour Minister Tinku Roy has inaugurated the International Women’s Day ceremony by lighting the lamp.   

“Central and State Governments have taken various schemes for women empowerment and socio-economic development. The State Government stands by the development of women”, Hon’ble Social Welfare & Social Education Minister Tinku Roy said at International Women’s Day ceremony. The SW & SE Minister also added that, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has taken the initiative to make Tripura a great State with the cooperation of all irrespective of men and women.

The Joint Director of Youth Affairs & Sports Department, Government of Tripura Paimang Mog delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. The Joint Director said, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Central Government has decided to organize various events and sports on the occasion of International Women’s Day from March 8 to March 27 in various States. Gymnast Protistha Samanta, Cricketer Rizu Saha, Judo Sahena Debbarma, NSS volunteer Riya Roy Choudhury were felicitated by Youth Affairs & Sports Minister Tinku Roy with trophies and northerners on the occasion. The players then participated in 100m run, 200m walk, musical chairs etc. Kshudiram Basu English Medium H.S School (KBEMS) Principal Samir Ranjan Das, MLA Kalyani Roy, Dronacharya awarded Bishweshwar Nandi and dignitaries were present at the ceremony.​
