Jamia Hamdard Has Been Selected By The Government Of India’s Ministry Of Home Affairs And Ministry Of Youth Affairs And Sports For The Prestigious “6th Kashmiri Youth Exchange Program.”

New Delhi, Delhi, 16th of January, 2026 : Jamia Hamdard (a Government-aided, Deemed-to-be University), in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, is organizing the “My India/NSS 6th Kashmiri Youth Exchange Program” at Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi – 110062, from 17 to 22 January 2026.

The inaugural ceremony will be held on Saturday, 17 January 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Hakim Abdul Hameed Auditorium, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi – 110062. Mr. Ashish Sood, Hon’ble Education Minister, Delhi Government, will be the Chief Guest, and Colonel Tahir Mustafa, Registrar, Jamia Hamdard, will be the Guest of Honor. Prof. Asgar Ali, Acting Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard, will preside over the ceremony.

Jamia Hamdard has been chosen by the Government of India’s Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to host the prestigious “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat – Know Your Nation” 6th Kashmiri Youth Exchange Program.

Expressing deep joy and gratitude, Colonel Tahir Mustafa, Registrar, Jamia Hamdard, said that the university feels honored by the trust shown by the Government of India and confirmed Jamia Hamdard’s readiness to contribute meaningfully to national development and national unity through youth awareness and empowerment. Speaking to the media during the press conference, he further stated,
“Being selected among several premier national institutions in Delhi, including Delhi University, IIT Delhi, Jamia Millia Islamia, and Jawaharlal Nehru University, is a special and proud recognition for Jamia Hamdard, reflecting the institution’s strong academic reputation, inclusive thinking, and national commitment.”

Jamia Hamdard’s Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Asgar Ali, addressed the media, explaining that the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat program embodies the spirit of unity in diversity, aiming to foster cultural understanding, emotional bonding, and leadership skills among the youth from different parts of the country. He emphasized that Jamia Hamdard takes pride in acting as a bridge connecting the young minds of the Kashmir Valley with the national mainstream through education, dialogue, and shared experiences.

Mr. Divakar Bhati, District Youth Officer, My India, North-East Delhi, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, also spoke about the objectives of the program.

Jamia Hamdard will host this six-day program, which will include 132 youth participants aged 18–25 from six districts of Kashmir, namely Anantnag, Baramulla, Budgam, Kupwara, Pulwama, and Srinagar. Participants will engage in academic discussions, cultural exchange programs, leadership workshops, career counseling sessions, institutional visits, and activities to familiarize them with national development initiatives.
