Worker Climbs High-Voltage Tower Amid Family Dispute, Rescued By Fire Brigade.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 3rd of March, 2026 : A sensational incident took place on Monday afternoon in the Kameshwar area under Dharmanagar subdivision. Following a family dispute, Sunil Majhi, a brick kiln worker, climbed a high-voltage electric tower near Palatana, triggering panic in the locality.

Eyewitnesses reported that Sunil Majhi suddenly climbed the tower, causing alarm among residents. Locals immediately informed the Dharmanagar Fire Department. Fire personnel rushed to the spot, brought the situation under control, and after sustained efforts, safely brought him down.After the rescue, he was taken to Dharmanagar District Hospital for medical treatment. Hospital sources stated that his physical condition is stable.According to allegations made by his wife, Sunil Majhi regularly consumes alcohol and does not fulfill his family responsibilities.

She further alleged that he often fails to provide necessary household expenses and frequently creates disturbances at home.The incident drew a large crowd of brick kiln workers and local residents. However, prompt action by the fire department helped avert a major mishap.The incident has sparked discussion in the area.
