Agartala, Tripura, 31st of July, 2024 : Jishnu Dev Varma, Former Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura is took oath as the 4th Governor of Telangana State at Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad, Telangana on Wednesday (31st July, 2024). The Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court, Sri Justice Alok Aradhe, administered the oath of office to Former Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura Jishnu Dev Varma in a ceremonial programme held at Raj Bhavan.
Hon’ble President of India, Droupadi Murmu appointed the new Governor for Telangana. Former Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura Jishnu Dev Varma is the first person from Tripura to be appointed as the Governor of any State in the country.
Jishnu Dev Varma, Former Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura was appointed as the Governor on July 27, succeeds CP Radhakrishnan, who was appointed the new Governor of Maharashtra.
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana Anumula Revanth Reddy, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, State Cabinet members, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, senior officials, MLAs, and senior leaders from various political parties were present in the taking oath ceremony.
