Joint Convention Of Tribal Youth Federation And Students’ Union Held In Dharmanagar, New Sub-Divisional Committee Formed.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 19th of July 2026 : A joint divisional convention of the Tripura Tribal Youth Federation (TYF) and the Tripura Tribal Students’ Union was held in Dharmanagar on Saturday (18th July, 2026). The convention was organized with the objective of safeguarding the rights of tribal youth and students and strengthening the organizations’ future activities.

A total of 85 delegates from different areas participated in the event.The presidium was chaired by Chanchala Tripura and Ringbor Mani Halam. The keynote address was delivered by Rajendra Reang, Vice-President of the State Committee of the Tripura Upajati Ganamukti Parishad (GMP) and a member of the CPI(M) State Secretariat. In his speech, he highlighted the responsibilities of the youth in the present social and political situation and emphasized the importance of organized democratic movements.

Among others who addressed the gathering were Prabin Kumar Tripura, Central Committee Member of the Tripura Tribal Youth Federation; Prasanna Tripura, Sub-Divisional Secretary of the “Tripura Upajati Ganamukti Parishad”, Dharmanagar; Joy Lal Manik Halam, Vice-President of the Parishad; and Ratan Roy, CPI(M) Dharmanagar Sub-Divisional Secretary, who extended his solidarity.Following active discussions and exchange of views among the delegates, the convention outlined the organization’s future course of action. In the concluding session, an 18-member Dharmanagar Sub-Divisional Committee of the Tripura Tribal Youth Federation was unanimously constituted. Biswajit Tripura was elected President and Khagendra Tripura was elected Secretary.The convention expressed confidence that the newly elected leadership would strengthen the organization and play a leading role in addressing the concerns of tribal youth and spearheading various people-oriented movements in the region.
