Teliamura, 28th of January 2024 : Indigenous are blocking the road on Sunday (28th January, 2024) in Kalipara under Teliamura Sub-division demanding the protection of peace and harmony in the area. Moreover, the blockaders statement, 14 Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana project houses in Kalipara, North Brahmachara have been vandalized on Friday night. The names of the Indigenous of Kalipara have been defamed on social media. They blockade road to demand proper investigation.
Being informed the OC Rajib Debnath and other Police personnel of Teliamura police station arrived to the spots. Two DCMs of Teliamura Sub-divisional administration are Biswajit Majumder and Debasish Chakma also arrived on the spot. Sudhambika R, SDPO, of Teliamura police station reached the spot, in the meantime the Bengali community people of the Kalipara Village joined the road block on the other side of the road.
The Sudhambika R SDPO, of Teliamura police station arrived to the spots and long discussions with blockers but could not removed. Khowai District Superintendent of Police Dr. Ramesh Chandra Yadav had to reach the spot. He reached the spot and held discussions with both sides to conduct a proper investigation on the issue of the viral video and assured that the TSR battalion would be deployed instead of the SPO from Sunday for the sake of security in the area. However, the District Superintendent of Police said that in order to maintain peace and harmony in the area, five representatives two community will be elected and a peace meeting will be held. Afterwards, the blockade withdrawn on the SP’s assurance.
