Khelo Dharmanagar Inaugurates By Sports Minister Tinku Roy.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 7th of December, 2024 : With the initiative of  Dharmanagar Municipal Council Khelo Dharmanagar has been conducted at Dharmanagar BBI ground, Dharmanagar on Saturday (7th December, 2024). In the presence of many dignitaries Hon’ble Youth Affairs & Sports, Social Welfare & Social Education, Labour Minister Tinku Roy inaugurated the 35-day sports competition by lighting the lamp.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony Khelo Dharmanagar, Hon’ble Youth Affairs & Sports, Minister Tinku Roy  said, Although small in size, our state Tripura is ahead in many aspects. The talented players of the state have made the state shine in national and international sports competitions. Various initiatives have also been taken in the state to develop sports talent.The Sports, Minister said that Sports are now not only a means of physical and mental development. Our state’s talented players Dipa Karmakar, Arshiya, Aaradhya have increased the glory of the state through their talent. The state government is also helping in various ways to encourage the state’s players.

‘Khelo Dharmanagar’ sports competition has a total of 19 events including cricket, Kabaddi, volleyball, table tennis, chess, carom, badminton, chess, yoga, judo, weightlifting, power lifting, bodybuilding, banquet ball etc.

Social activist Shyamal Nath, Convener of the ‘Khelo Dharmanagar’ Management Committee, delivered the welcome speech at the event. Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were Hon’ble Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Biswa Bandhu Sen, North Tripura District Magistrate and Collector Debapriya Bardhan, Dharmanagar Municipal Council Chairperson Mitali Rani Das Sen, Municipal Council Vice Chairperson Manju Nath, Social activist Pradip Debbarma, Sajal Debnath, Sub-divisional Magistrate, Dharmanagar and many other dignitaries were remained present in the  inaugural ceremony.
