Kho-Kho Final And Closing Ceremony Held Under The Aegis Of The Tripura Olympic Association.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 24th of February, 2026 : The Kho-Kho final match and closing ceremony of the first Tripura State Sports Competition were successfully held on Tuesday (24 February) at the Dharmanagar Government Degree College ground in North Tripura. The event was organized under the initiative of the Tripura Olympic Association. The colorful programme began at around 3 PM and witnessed the enthusiastic presence of players, coaches, sports organizers, and numerous sports lovers, turning the venue into a festive arena.

Among those present on the occasion were North District Vice-Chairperson Bhabatosh Das, Kalachhara Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Tinku Sharma, noted social worker Kajal Das, Dharmanagar Municipal Council member Tapati Das, Assistant Director of the Youth Affairs and Sports Department of North District Bibhavasu Goswami, and Secretary of the North District Kho-Kho Association Jayanta Paul, along with other distinguished guests.The Kho-Kho final matches of the day were highly competitive and thrilling. In the men’s category, West Tripura district team emerged as champions, while Khowai district secured the runner-up position. In the women’s category, South Tripura district team clinched the championship title, with Khowai district finishing as runners-up. The winners and runners-up were awarded trophies and prizes by the dignitaries present at the ceremony.

In their speeches, the guests stated that such state-level sports competitions create valuable opportunities for talented athletes from the districts. They expressed optimism that these initiatives would inspire the younger generation to take greater interest in sports and pave the way for future success at the national level. The speakers also urged sports enthusiasts and the general public to continue supporting and encouraging athletes.

It is noteworthy that hosting a state-level Kho-Kho tournament of this scale in Dharmanagar, North Tripura, has generated considerable enthusiasm within the sports community. Local sports lovers believe that such initiatives will pave the way for organizing even larger sporting events in the future.
