Kia India Expands Project DROP In NCR, Starts On Ground In Ghaziabad And Greater Noida.

Ghaziabad,12th of August, 2026 : Kia India, one of the country’s leading mass-premium automobile manufacturers, has started implementing the fourth phase of its flagship CSR initiative, Project DROP (Develop Responsible Outlook for Plastics), on the ground in Ghaziabad and Greater Noida. The initiative, being run in association with the Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA), aims to promote collection, recycling and awareness of plastic waste in the National Capital Region through community participation.

With launches in Ghaziabad and Greater Noida, Project DROP is steadily expanding its reach across major cities in India and creating a systematic mechanism wherein local communities, civic bodies, educational institutions and people associated with waste management come together to promote responsible plastic waste management. With the addition of these two cities, Project DROP is now active in twelve cities – Gurugram, Bengaluru, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Panchkula, Zirakpur, Delhi, Noida, Ambala, Ghaziabad and Noida / Greater Noida, thereby further strengthening its presence across the country.

Mrs. Shilpa Chaudhary, Councillor of Ward 61, Vasundhara, and Dr. Mithilesh Kumar, Health Officer of Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation, were present as guests of honour. Sunila Athale, Principal, Amity International School, Vasundhara and Dr. Radha Goyal, Deputy Director, IPCA were also present on the occasion.

Alok Kumar, General Manager, Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA), was the chief guest at the event. Shri Ajay Garg, Secretary, IPCA, Dr Radha Goel, Deputy Director, IPCA, senior officials of GNIDA, Resident Welfare Associations, Educational Institutions and other community members were present on the occasion.

In this programme, plastic waste collection and recycling activities were started in a systematic manner by installing DROP community bins and flagging off DROP collection vehicles. To increase community participation, these events also featured a street play on responsible plastic waste management and sustainable disposal practices.

As part of the awareness programme, professional artists presented a street play showing the importance of responsible plastic waste management, encouraging students, local residents and community people to actively participate in sustainable waste disposal methods.

Project DROP continues to be Kia India’s flagship environmental sustainability initiative that promotes responsible plastic waste management through awareness, community participation and working together with civic bodies and local people. Working relentlessly on the ground, this initiative is furthering Kia India’s goal of creating a cleaner community and a better sustainable future.
