Bengaluru, Karnataka, 29th of October 2025 : Kodaikanal International School (KIS) and St. George’s University (SGU), School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, have signed a three-year renewable Academic Affiliation Agreement. Through this agreement, qualified KIS graduates can submit a priority application, with eligible students guaranteed an interview for entry into SGU’s Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree program. Those accepted into SGU’s Four-Year MD Program and the 5-, 6-, or 7-Year MD tracks will have access to partial merit-based scholarships, subject to terms and conditions.

This agreement establishes a pathway for KIS students to transfer and complete a four-year MD program at SGU, which remains the largest provider of doctors to the US workforce as per FSMB physician licensure data, 2023.
Ms. Cindy Beals, the Vice President of KIS, remarked, “This is a good opportunity for KIS students and graduates. With the priority application process, eligible KIS students can apply during their final year, ensuring them an interview into SGU upon their graduation from KIS. Additionally, they will be considered for partial scholarships from SGU.”
“This partnership marks a significant milestone for our students at Kodaikanal International School. By opening new avenues for them to achieve their medical aspirations, this collaboration facilitates academic growth and expands pathways to success. I look forward to witnessing the long-term benefits this collaboration with SGU will bring to our future graduates,” said Ms. Cindy Beals.

Aurelie Lily Phommarack, Assistant Director for International Academic Affiliates at SGU, stated, “We are excited to collaborate with Kodaikanal International School and offer its students a streamlined pathway to pursue their aspirations in medicine. At SGU, we are dedicated to equipping future doctors with the knowledge, skills, and global outlook essential for success in healthcare. This partnership not only reinforces our shared commitment to advancing medical education but also enables KIS students to gain valuable clinical exposure in diverse healthcare environments.
