Kolkata, West Bengal, 29th of October, 2026 : Theobroma, the Mumbai-born patisserie brand known for its signature brownies, will open its first two stores in Kolkata on Friday, 30 October 2026. The stores are in Salt Lake and New Alipore, and their opening marks the brand’s entry into Eastern India. The announcement was made by Mr. Rishi Gour, CEO of Theobroma & the store opening was also attended by actress Ms. Sauraseni Maitra.
Both stores have a bakery format with dine-in, takeaway and delivery. The menu covers Theobroma’s full range of cakes, pastries, brownies, cookies, savouries, sandwiches and beverages, baked fresh every day. Highlights include the Overload and Millionaire brownies, Dutch Truffle and Tiramisu. Festive gift boxes and hampers will also be available, both in store and for delivery.
The launch follows strong demand from Kolkata. Earlier this month, a video of a Theobroma signboard going up in the city went viral on social media.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rishi Gour, CEO, Theobroma, said: “Kolkata has been asking for Theobroma for a while, and we didn’t want to arrive with anything less than our best.
