Agartala, Tripura, 21st of November, 2025 : Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy on Thursday (20th November, 2025) stressed the need for LAMPS and PACS to enhance production, expand markets, and adopt efficient management practices. He was speaking at the inauguration of the 72nd All India Cooperative Week celebration for Unakoti and North Tripura districts, held at Unakoti Kalakshetra in Kailashahar. The minister said, the government has already provided many PACS and LAMPS with computers and essential technological support. “It is now their responsibility to utilize these facilities and advance their business with proper planning. No institution can survive without self-confidence and self-reliance,” he added. The minister urged cooperatives to diversify products based on market demand and learn from successful cooperative models.

Addressing the event, MLA Jadab Lal Debnath said that those running PACS and LAMPS must work with determination and the intention to turn their vision into reality. “Planned initiatives and hard work ensure the success of such programmes,” he noted. The programme was presided over by Unakoti Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Amalendu Das. Among others present were North Tripura Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Aparna Nath, Kailashahar Municipal Council Chairperson Chapala Debroy, Unakoti Zilla Parishad member Bimal Kar, Unakoti District Magistrate Dr. Tamal Majumder, and social worker Kajal Das. Event convener DCM Rajib Datta delivered the welcome address.

As part of the Cooperative Week celebrations, activities such as sit-and-draw competitions, Swachh Bharat campaigns, fruit and sweet distribution in hospitals across both districts, and a blood donation camp were conducted from November 14 to 20.
