Agartala, Tripura, 30th of May 2026 : A successful livestock insurance drive was organized at Shangkumabari VC under the initiative of PIU ARDD and BPMU Jampuijala TRESP, with active support from POS and Pashusakhi Didis along with ARDD and TRESP field staff.
Despite challenging weather conditions due to heavy rainfall, the field teams carried out the program with dedication and efficiency. To ensure smooth implementation, the team was divided into two groups and covered multiple Producer Groups successfully.
During the drive, insurance coverage was provided to a total of 44 piglets across three Producer Groups — Palbaksa PG, Naithok PG, and Naikalnai PG. The initiative aims to strengthen livelihood security for rural pig farmers by reducing financial risks associated with livestock rearing.
The program showcased the strong grassroots involvement of POS and Pashusakhi Didis, whose tireless efforts and close coordination with farmers played a key role in the success of the drive. Their commitment reflects the growing community participation in livelihood development initiatives under TRESP.
Such insurance support initiatives are helping rural livestock farmers build confidence, improve resilience, and move towards more secure and sustainable piggery-based income generation.
